Our Story

Amy Soergel and her dog, BeckleyIn 2007 I was diagnosed with celiac disease, and my life was completely changed. Having battled with multiple digestive disorders for over 10 years, I was relieved to find out that a gluten-free diet was the answer to my health problems.  However, I did not realize that I was about to embark on a long journey of finding personal wellness through diet, exercise and lifestyle changes.

I studied public health at Johns Hopkins University and then went on to get my Masters in Public Health in epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh.  After graduation, I became a holistic health counselor through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City where I was exposed to the leaders in the nutrition field like Walter Willet, Marion Nestle, Deepak Chopra, Dr. Andrew Weil among many others.  I gained a great education from their teachings and would love to share it with you!

Ultimately, the path that I have chosen has brought me to opening Naturally Soergel’s an organic, natural, gluten-free and allergen-free food store.  The North Hills had not provided any place for people on special diets to purchase the food they need.  I saw a need in the area and I wanted to fill it.  I have made it my mission to bring customers the highest quality food, customer service, and experience as they shop in our store.

Our staff is very knowledgeable and able to provide help when choosing foods and products.  They understand many different diets and are able and willing to help every customer.

I provide counseling services for those who would like to learn more about their health, nutrition, and perhaps gaining a better understanding of what wellness and health means to them.

We welcome you to stop in, check out the store, and ask questions! Along with myself, everyone is here to help you and make you feel comfortable as soon as you step into the store!

In health,
Amy Soergel
